Working for the first time with Reebok, Western Hydrodynamic Research apply their environmentally-conscious mindset to the Club C silhouette.
Established in California by pro surfer Pat Towersey, Western Hydrodynamic Research (WHR) first made a name for itself with their now-iconic caps—featuring a novel rope securing system. They describe themselves as "a community based organisation that provides immersive experiences, educational programs, and beach utility products".
The upper of the WHR Club C is constructed with a recycled textile overlaid with neutral suede. When designing the shoe Towersey made a note to avoid changing the silhouette too much, instead relying on materiality to add a WHR touch.
